Sports on cruises are becoming more and more popular. It's no surprise that more and more cruises are being designed specifically for active guests. A real novelty is the Hyrox cruise, taking place in autumn 2026 on the Mein Schiff 4. In addition, there are several other cruises with a special focus on sport. This article, which we keep updating, shows you which sport events on cruises are coming up in 2026 and 2027. You'll also learn which cruises are especially suitable for athletes if you'd like to put together your own sport cruise.

HYROX Cruise 2026 brings the globally growing trend sport together on the high seas for the first time, making it likely the very first fitness cruise of its kind. From 21 to 25 October, the Mein Schiff 4 will be used exclusively as a full charter by HYROX Experiences as an external organiser for this event, aimed at fitness enthusiasts of all levels. The focus is on group workouts, coaching sessions and a training concept that combines endurance, strength and full-body performance.
In addition to structured sessions, participants benefit from the motivation of a large community and exchange with experienced athletes. The route runs from Palma de Mallorca via Marseille and Barcelona back to Mallorca, combining onboard training with varied shore stops. The sport programme is rounded off by the ship's usual amenities such as dining, spa and relaxation – creating a balanced mix of activity, recovery and travel experience.
More information is available from the organiser.
Football fans also get their money's worth during the 2026 World Cup season – in several ways.
If you want to follow the tournament in a special atmosphere, you can join the MSC Seaview, where Roman Weidenfeller and Karl-Heinz Riedle will commentate the international match Germany vs. Curaçao live on board. Weidenfeller, 2014 world champion and long-time BVB goalkeeper, and Riedle, Champions League winner and goal scorer in the 1990 World Cup final, promise an evening with genuine behind-the-scenes football insights. Departures on 11 June from Barcelona, 12 June from Marseille or 13 June from Genoa.
Even closer to the action is whoever sees a match live in the stadium. Anyone planning a US cruise has good chances: MSC broadcasts all World Cup matches across the entire fleet, and several venues lie right next to cruise ports – including New York, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver in Canada. A stadium visit during port time usually only works for matches kicking off at 12 noon local time. It's more relaxed to schedule the cruise either before or after your World Cup visit.
Those who prefer to take to the dance floor are also covered. At the end of October 2026, the Mein Schiff 6 hosts the event Mein Schiff auf Tanzkurs: from 25 October to 14 November, Christian Polanc accompanies the journey from Las Palmas to Cape Town. The two-time "Let's Dance" winner brings guests onto the dance floor in workshops together with other dance pros – from beginners to advanced dancers, everyone is welcome.
Things get a bit more exotic in March 2027: from 23 March, the Anthem of the Seas turns into a floating Zumba party on a four-day voyage from Sydney to Tasmania and back. Experienced instructors lead sessions to salsa, reggaeton and hip-hop – no prior knowledge needed, just a love of movement.
If you'd rather not book an entire event cruise: the organisers FoxCruise and Royaldance Tanzreisen offer individual dance workshops on various AIDA ships that fit nicely into a regular cruise.
