Doha's cruise port is located directly on Doha Bay, offering an ideal starting point for running or walking. This 10-km route connects the Mina Parks and MIA Park with the famous Corniche promenade, providing spectacular views of the Doha skyline.
The route starts directly at Doha's cruise port. After just a few meters, you'll get a beautiful view of the city's skyline. The route then heads towards the coast and continues through the Mina Parks via small paths.
First, the route leads through Mina Park 2 and then through MIA Park. From there, you reach the well-known Corniche promenade, which runs along Doha Bay. The turnaround point is after about 5 km at the flag monument for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The route can also be extended flexibly.
The return journey follows the same route, but with a small variation through Mina Park 1 before reaching Mina Park 2 again and then the cruise port.
The route combines excellent running conditions with some of the most beautiful views in Doha. Especially the Corniche with its skyline views and the paths through the parks make the loop varied and pleasant to run. For a 10-km route directly from the cruise port, we consider it one of the best running options in Qatar.
The route is ideal as a sporty start to the day or as a relaxed finish after an excursion in Qatar. Due to its direct location at the cruise port, the loop can be flexibly integrated into your daily schedule.
If you want to combine nature and adventure, you can take a kayak tour through the mangroves in northern Qatar. Transfer from the cruise port is possible, so the excursion can be easily combined with an easy run or walk along the Corniche. Otherwise, you can also find guided city tours of Doha via the links below.
Alternatively, a desert safari with sandboarding and optional camel ride is available. Pickup at the harbor is also possible here. After an action-packed excursion, the Corniche route is excellent for a relaxed run or walk with views of the Doha skyline.

You can either follow the route directly via the map on this page or import the GPX file into a navigation app like Komoot. We recommend navigation via the GPX file, as it is significantly more precise and you receive clear guidance via GPS while running. After saving the GPX file to your app, you can usually use the map offline. We recommend testing navigation in airplane mode without active Wi-Fi in advance to ensure it works even without an internet connection.
Tip: For safety, it is still useful to have internet on the go. If your mobile provider in Qatar does not offer data roaming or only expensive options, a global data plan that works in many countries is suitable for cruises – for example, from eSIM.sm (advertisement).
The route is considered very safe. Only in a few places do roads need to be crossed. The paths along the Corniche and in the parks are well-maintained and predominantly car-free. The route is usually well-lit even in the evening.
The route can be flexibly shortened by turning around earlier on the Corniche. In case of emergency, it is advisable to save the ship's phone number and to install apps like Uber and Bolt in advance and be familiar with their use. These services work very well in Doha.
Public restrooms are located in MIA Park. Public drinking water sources are not known along the route. We recommend bringing something to drink.
The route is predominantly on paved and cobbled paths. Normal running shoes are sufficient. We also recommend bringing sun protection (ad), enough water, and a cell phone or watch for navigation. A payment method is also useful, although in Qatar you can usually pay by card or smartphone.
